DARYL IMPEY

Marred by a devastating crash that questions the ethics of 1 rider and the consistency of the UCI, a legend is born and in so doing, we choose to celebrate the victor and hope that justice claims the overall victory.

It was without doubt an impressive and well disciplined ride by Daryl Impey yet sadly the crash which took place just inside the last kilometre has left many cycling fans at a loss for words.

Posted in CYCLING NEWS on April 30, 2009 by froggy100

Sorry for not blogging in a while, work has been a little off the chart so it’s made it difficult to update the site.

Was away this past weekend at Mighty Men Conference in Greytown, KZN and man oh man it was incredible.

Much to discuss and share so will start the updates soon.

For the 1st time ever, SA get’s to host a leg of the UCI MTB World Cup, pretty big stuff if you ask me. Taking this into account and identifying that cycling is probably one of the fastest growing sports in our country, let alone the world, surely some effort should have been made to televise the entire event live?

There is no doubt that the price of tickets that were on offer, we’re incredibly affordable but the majority of fans can’t make a trip to Pietermaritzburg, especially over Easter weekend. We have some really big names taking part and I’m sure I speak for many SA fans, who can’t make it to the event ,when I say that we would love to have seen Stander and Minnaar live in action?

For this reason, I would like to award Supersport with a tube of lube – thank you for broadcasting highlights of the Tour of Qatar now, an event which happened almost 2 months ago when perhaps we all could have appreciated this incredible mountain biking event live.
